Taking time in 2017

With this being the first working day of the year (well, for me anyway), I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to set the tone for 2017.  I’m not one for new years resolutions which I feel are always about changing an undesired trait or behavior, but I do like the idea of having a theme for the year to help me priortise the things I choose to do throughout the year and keep me on track to achieving my goals.  For me, this year is going to be about taking time!

I want to take time to read and write more often and perhaps pursue a new hobby (watch this space); take time to be active but also to relax; take time to stay in touch with old friends and connect with new friends and of course take time to travel (when my bank and leave balances allow).

I am fully aware that this is certainly easier said than done and actually finding some spare time is going to be the most challenging part of all but, so far so good – I have already signed up for Bay to Breakers and started the new year with a run along the Embarcadero.  I’ve also started getting up an hour earlier so that I have an extra hour to squeeze in some activity, read a few pages of my book or plan my next trip…

What is your theme for 2017?

  1. Loving this theme! My theme is “I am able”. Last year was a tough year on so many levels. I felt trapped in more ways than one. This year I’m choosing to believe in myself more, hence my theme.
