2016 has certainly been quite an adventurous year for me so I decided that it was high time I found an avenue to capture and share all of the incredible (and sometimes challenging) experiences of the past year as I can only imagine what 2017 might have install!
So, why a blog, surely a diary would do the trick?
Firstly, I quite enjoying reading other people’s blogs myself. For health and wellness, I look to Jessica Sepel; for fitness, Kayla Itsines; for fashion and beauty, Julie Engel of Gal Meets Glam; for something a little more thought-provoking Diary Sunday Painter written by my incredibly talented father (Charles Peers); and then there are the hundreds of blogs about giving up your 9 to 5 to travel the world including the one by South African couple Chanel and Stevo called How Far From Home. Admittedly, I don’t read each and every post and I’m certainly not the healthiest, fittest, most glamorous or well-informed person I know so clearly I don’t absorb all of the information that I do read but I do think reading blogs are a great way to get someone elses insight and tried and tested tips and tricks.
Secondly, being an engineer means that I am generally involved in pretty technical work and I have desperately been looking for a hobby through which I can express myself and nurture my desire to be a little more creative. With my inability to draw and my failed attempts at learning a language, writing seemed like a good creative outlet.
So, let’s give this a whirl!
